Apple only unleashed iOS 9 on the world a little over a week ago, but the first bundle of bug-fixes have landed in the form of iOS 9.0.1, and this update squashes one particularly nasty bug.
The fixes are listed as follows:
- Fixes an issue where some users could not complete setup assistant after updating
- Fixes an issue where sometimes alarms and timers could fail to play
- Fixes an issue in Safari and Photos where pausing video could cause the paused frame to appear distorted
- Fixes an issue where some users with a custom APN setup via a profile would lose cellular data.
The biggest bug crushed by this update is the "Slide to Upgrade" issue that's been preventing people from making the leap to iOS 9. My devices also feel snappier and more responsive following the upgrade, something else which is very welcomed.
There are, however, plenty more iOS 9 bugs that need attention.
You can download iOS 9.0.1 either over-the-air (OTA) by going Settings > General > Software Update on your iOS device or via iTunes. The download size will vary based on your particular iOS device, but for my iPhone 6 Plus the download was a very manageable 35 megabytes.
