SK Telecom, KT and LG Uplus started displaying the Apple Watch and Apple Watch Sport at their stores in the Seoul metropolitan area on Wednesday, to coincide with the upcoming Korean Thanksgiving weekend.
According to the telcos, they will sell the eight new models unveiled earlier this month, as well as the old ones.
Apple Watch has already been available to buy at Apple stores, but this is the first time it will be available at retailers owned by mobile carriers, where most South Koreans purchase their mobile devices.
A KT spokesman said that the company will expand availability of the devices by the end of this year. The recent Watch OS 2 update will likely boost the popularity of the smartwatches in South Korea, sales of which have reportedly been lacklustre until now.
Apple's arch-rival Samsung is expected to begin sales of its Gear S2 smartwatch in Korea in early October, before the global launch date.
Apple Watch began its global sales in April.
Apple was unavailable for comment.
