It's easy to waste time online during work hours between social media and seemingly never empty email inboxes.
Google squeaked out a quiet but potentially very satisfying bit of news on Tuesday that could help alleviate the latter affliction.
For those who want to achieve Inbox Zero goals, Gmail has a few new simple tricks to help out: specifically being able to block specific email addresses and an easier unsubscribe function for Android.
The first of the two is rather self-explanatory in theory and function as users simply have to select "Block" from a drop down menu like they would to reply to or forward an email.
As for unsubscribing from pesky discount emails from retailers and other spam that seems to make its way through to the inbox, Android users can opt out of eligible mailing lists directly from the Gmail app on mobile devices.
The block drop-down feature is rolling out to web channels initially and will be added to the Android app over the next week.
